Addressing party leaders, elders and delegates shortly after his affirmation, Fagbemi described his re-election as a rare privilege and thanked members for the renewed mandate.

“It is a rare privilege to stand before you to give this acceptance speech as you have graciously voted to return me to the office of the State Chairman of our party.

“I thank you all for this vote of confidence. I return the glory and honour to God,” he said.

He also acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

“I specially acknowledge the support and goodwill of His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, and my Governor and leader of our party in the state, His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

“On behalf of my executive committee, I thank the people of Kwara State for their support for our party, our Governor and our President. We are grateful indeed,” he said.

Fagbemi said he viewed his re-election as a renewed assignment to reposition the party for future electoral victories.

“I do not take this privilege for granted.

“I take it as a new assignment to coordinate all efforts and strategies to consolidate the development and democratic hold of our party on Kwara State in the coming elections,” he said.

Highlighting achievements under the current administration, he said the state had witnessed unprecedented development in infrastructure and governance, noting that 586.09 kilometres of roads had been constructed or rehabilitated in the past six years.

“Of these, 326.46 kilometres have been completed, while 259.63 kilometres are at different stages of completion. This is unprecedented for any administration in this state,” he said.

On employment and welfare, Fagbemi stated that 8,912 teachers had been recruited, alongside minimum wage adjustments and other welfare packages for civil servants.

He also referenced the payment of N50,000 social security stipends to about 10,000 senior citizens across the state.

On security, he acknowledged the challenges faced by residents but expressed optimism.

“We are not without our own share of global and national security challenges. But we are confident that we will not be broken.

“Together, we will defeat terrorism and sheer criminality such as abduction for ransom,” he said.

Fagbemi lauded Tinubu’s economic reforms, describing them as bold steps that had freed up resources and repositioned the economy, and reassured the President of the party’s continued support in Kwara State.

He urged party members seeking elective offices to remain united and adhere to democratic principles and party rules, expressing confidence that the APC would secure victory again in 2027.

Online reports that the APC in Kwara State held its state congress in Ilorin on Tuesday, where stakeholders reviewed the party’s progress and began preparations for forthcoming political activities, including primaries.
