Some areas experienced tragic incidents, such as stampedes resulting in casualties. However, in places like the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos, and Port Harcourt, people still came out to enjoy the festive season.
In Abuja, Lagos, and Rivers, large crowds gathered at amusement parks and malls, while in Jos, Plateau State, and Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, fun-seekers also turned out in significant numbers. However, in Anambra State, residents mostly stayed indoors due to security concerns, impacting tourism activities in the area.
Different recreational centers offered various activities and pricing for visitors, with some places like Magicland Park and Monoliza Park attracting fun-seekers with affordable options and exciting rides. In some areas, overcrowding and security measures were a concern, leading to adjustments in entry fees and crowd control.
In Ogun State, the Hi-Impact Planet Amusement Park had a low turnout, while in Benue State, major parks were shut down for various reasons, leaving Christmas celebrants seeking alternate options.
Authorities in the Federal Capital Territory stated that they are investigating the tragic stampede incident at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church to understand the circumstances better. The focus is on uncovering the truth and ensuring accountability, with further interviews expected as the inquiry progresses.
