Lagos disowns alleged impostor, says on-street parking scheme yet to commence

The Lagos State Parking Authority has clarified that an individual named “Isaiah” featured in a viral video wearing unauthorized LASPA branding is not an official LASPA agent. The agency emphasized that the parking permit shown in the video is meant for setback parking, not for its current use. LASPA stated that any activities depicted in the video are illegal since the on-street parking scheme in Lagos has not yet begun.

LASPA highlighted that a pilot scheme is in the works, but no one is authorized to collect parking fees or issue permits for on-street parking. The agency advised Lagos residents to be cautious of unauthorized persons claiming to represent LASPA, stressing that only LASPA staff are allowed to wear uniforms with the agency’s logos while carrying out parking enforcement.

Residents were encouraged to report any suspicious activities related to parking and assured of LASPA’s commitment to fair and transparent parking management. LASPA reiterated its dedication to enhancing parking management in Lagos for the benefit of all residents and visitors.

For parking-related concerns or reports, residents and motorists were urged to contact LASPA through the agency’s hotlines or visit their office in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, or official website.
