LASG commends stakeholders’ contribution to health sector

The Health Commissioner of Lagos State, Prof. Akin Abayomi, praised the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria for its valuable contributions to the development of the health sector in the state. The HFN, comprising private healthcare stakeholders, is a non-political, non-partisan organization dedicated to enhancing Nigeria’s private healthcare sector.

During the inauguration of the Diaspora Digital Diversity hub organized by the HFN, Abayomi emphasized the pivotal role of the private sector in shaping government policies, providing crucial insights, and enhancing industrial capabilities.

Abayomi expressed gratitude for the existence of HFN, highlighting its significant presence in Lagos and acknowledging its advice, connectivity, hard work, and diligence. He emphasized the importance of finding sustainable models for healthcare financing to ensure a thriving and attractive field for professionals and investors.

Dr. Pamela Ajayi, the President of HFN, stated that the organization focuses on addressing common challenges across various healthcare sectors, such as pharmacies, hospitals, physiotherapy, and laboratories. Ajayi highlighted the organization’s work on fiscal policies to tackle issues like the cost of importing goods.

Reflecting on the Medic West Africa Healthcare Leadership Conference, Ajayi mentioned efforts to optimize health emergency care delivery and bring critical issues to the forefront for proper attention and resolution.

Dr. Chinyere Anyogu, the immediate past president of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in America, participated in a discussion at the 3D hub, focusing on Diaspora, Digital, and Diversity. Anyogu emphasized the opportunities for collaboration among non-governmental organizations facilitated by the healthcare foundation to achieve collective outcomes.
