A lawsuit totaling $10 million has been filed against the President of Liberia, Joseph Boakai, at the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice in Abuja. The lawsuit was brought forth by Liberia’s Director General of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority, Emma Glassco, who claims she was unfairly suspended from her position by President Boakai without following due process. The lawsuit, filed by Glassco’s legal team, argues that her suspension was arbitrary and unjust, leading to damage to her reputation and character assassination without any evidence of wrongdoing. Glassco is seeking compensation for various damages, including emotional trauma, public humiliation, and financial hardships caused by her premature termination from her position. She also demands a public apology, financial compensation for the remainder of her unexpired contract term, and coverage of litigation costs. The case is pending a hearing date at the ECOWAS court.
