A woman of Nigerian descent residing in Canada is currently being investigated for making threats to harm individuals from Yoruba and Benin backgrounds. The Toronto Police Service has confirmed that they are looking into the matter. The incident gained attention after a video circulated online showing the woman making alarming statements about poisoning these specific groups of people in Canada. Following this, both the House of Representatives and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission urged Canadian authorities to take action and investigate the woman’s actions.
The woman, who identified herself as living in Ontario, Canada, made threats to poison the food and water of Nigerians from Yoruba and Benin origins once she was at her workplace. In response to the video, various Nigerian officials and organizations reached out to the Canadian government to demand accountability and legal action against the woman for her threatening behavior. Despite these calls for prosecution, the woman defiantly dismissed the requests, emphasizing her Canadian citizenship.
In the video, the woman expressed her strong dislike towards individuals from Yoruba and Benin backgrounds and detailed plans to poison their food and water with harmful substances. She specifically mentioned using rat poison and other toxic substances to cause harm, expressing deep-seated animosity towards these groups. The woman’s inflammatory remarks sparked outrage and led to formal requests for investigation and legal consequences for her actions.
