A woman in her seventies tragically lost her life after being struck by a vehicle in Jemi Alade Estate, Isheri-Olofin, Lagos State. The incident occurred on a Saturday as she was walking home with a friend within the estate when a car in reverse hit her. Eyewitnesses revealed that the woman passed away on the spot.
The witness, Olajide, shared that the elderly driver’s brake failed, leading to the fatal accident. The impact also caused the vehicle to collide with a nearby beauty salon. Residents were shocked by the series of events and the police had to intervene, moving the woman’s body to the morgue.
Following the incident, repairs were underway at the damaged beauty salon, with the owner declining to comment. Investigations into the accident were initiated by the Idimu Police Station, where the driver had been cooperating. Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer for a statement were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
