The National Assembly Joint Committee on Finance has cleared the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board of alleged financial misconduct in its 2024 budget execution. The committee chairman, Senator Sani Musa, stated that the accusations of improper spending were unfounded based on the documentation provided by JAMB.
During the budget review with JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the committee raised concerns about expenses such as N1.1 billion on meals and N850 million on fumigation. However, after a detailed explanation from the registrar, it was revealed that the expenditures were justified and in line with the board’s budget.
Senator Sani commended the registrar for his financial prudence and responsible management of JAMB’s resources. He emphasized the importance of such stewardship as a positive example for other public institutions in the country.
