The National Assembly Joint Committee on Agricultural Production and Services has once again shown its backing for the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) to help improve food security in Nigeria. Mohammed Ibrahim, the Executive Secretary/CEO of NADF, made this known during the NADF budget defense. Lawmakers praised NADF for its accomplishments in advancing sustainable agricultural development nationwide. They emphasized the importance of timely seed capital disbursement to boost the agricultural sector. The legislators pledged to collaborate closely with NADF to support President Tinubu’s food security goals. During the discussion, Senator Saliu Mustapha and Bello Kaoje led talks on the Fund’s strategic priorities for the upcoming year. Ibrahim highlighted NADF’s initiatives to enhance agricultural financing, seed production, and rural infrastructure for food security and economic growth. He also mentioned successful projects like the Ginger Recovery Advancement and Transformation for Economic Empowerment. Lawmakers are optimistic that with continued support, NADF can expand its impact on food security in line with the current administration’s agenda.
