The former Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has refuted claims of being accused of sexual harassment by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. Reports suggested that Senator Cyril Fasuyi accused Fayemi during a Senate session, but a statement from the Fayemi Media Office clarified that Fasuyi did not make such allegations upon reviewing the plenary session.
The statement emphasized that there have been no accusations of sexual misconduct against Fayemi, highlighting his commitment to integrity in public service. It urged the media to verify information before publishing to avoid spreading misleading narratives that could harm reputations and erode public trust. Additionally, it emphasized that any past disagreements between Fayemi and Akpoti-Uduaghan were based on professional differences in policy, not personal conflicts.
