Navy seals Delta illegal refining sites

Personnel from the Nigerian Navy stationed at Forward Operating Base Escravos conducted a raid on Oteghele community in Obodo Omadinho, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State on Friday night.

During the operation, the Navy uncovered and disabled two illegal refining sites.

Captain Ikenna Okoloagu, the Commanding Officer of FOB Escravos, who led the mission, informed reporters that the sites contained approximately 5,500 liters of stolen crude oil and 2,000 liters of illegally refined AGO stored in one oven, nine pits, and 28 polythene sacks.

“The operation’s success, conducted in conjunction with Operation Delta Sanity II, was made possible by credible intelligence,” he revealed.

Okoloagu emphasized that combating crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and other forms of economic sabotage align with the goal of enhancing Nigeria’s daily crude oil production.

Two weeks earlier, FOB Escravos operatives had discovered and dismantled three illegal refining sites in Obodo, Omadinho community, Warri South West LGA.
