NBM donates N5m, relief materials to Borno flood victims

The Neo Black Movement of Africa recently extended a helping hand to victims of flooding in Borno State by donating food items and N5 million in relief funds. The flooding in Maiduguri, the state capital, caused significant damage to crucial infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and hospitals.

During a visit to the Government House in Maiduguri, NBM National President Olorogun Ese Kakor emphasized the group’s dedication to supporting vulnerable individuals affected by disasters as part of their nation-building efforts. The donation included 400 tubers of yam, 100 bags of rice, 50 bags of beans, and other essential items, aimed at alleviating the impact of the flood.

Kakor also highlighted NBM’s commitment to preserving African cultures and traditions globally, stating their ongoing humanitarian efforts in various states, including providing support to Internally Displaced Persons. Governor Babagana Zulum praised NBM for their contribution and encouraged other organizations to follow suit.

In addition to their donation, the group visited Shehu’s Palace to pledge support for reviving the local culture and also offered assistance to victims at the Bakassi IDP camp who are still unable to return to their communities.
