At Mallam Aminu International Airport, officials from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency nabbed a 38-year-old suspect, Okafor Anthony, who was trying to board a Qatar Airlines flight to Iran via Doha with 76 cocaine wraps concealed in his stomach.
Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, confirmed the arrest, stating that Okafor was apprehended after authorities observed him for three days before he excreted 76 pellets of cocaine weighing 1.267kg.
In a separate incident in Kogi state, NDLEA officers seized 700,000 exol-5 pills on the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja expressway intended for distribution in Kano and Kaduna. Additionally, a suspect named Udemefuna Chibuike, 23, was arrested in Niger state with 49,000 tramadol tablets, 20,000 diazepam tablets, 100 tramadol ampoules, and 50 bottles of codeine cough syrup.
Furthermore, NDLEA officers intercepted 451 blocks of cannabis weighing 213kg in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. Ogochukwu Paul, 33, was apprehended while transporting the drugs to a known drug hub in Borikiri.
