The head of the National Emergency Management Agency, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, urged employees to embrace modern technologies in emergency management during the NEMA Customer Service Week in Abuja. She praised their dedication and encouraged them to enhance service delivery through innovation.
Umar highlighted the impact of technology in reshaping emergency management, emphasizing the importance of tools like early warning systems and disaster mapping. She stressed the significance of teamwork and collaboration across departments and partners in addressing complex emergencies.
Dr. Onimode Bandele, the Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics, reiterated the staff’s commitment to intensifying efforts to achieve the agency’s objectives. He emphasized the need to double efforts to enhance effectiveness.
Mr. Bello Danlami from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs commended NEMA for its quality services, acknowledging their role in safeguarding lives during challenging times. He expressed readiness to strengthen the partnership in addressing humanitarian challenges.
Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, the National Coordinator of the Service Compact with All Nigerians, represented by SERVICOM Officer Ms. Rebecca Abah, praised NEMA’s customer service initiative. She emphasized the importance of prioritizing customer needs and preparing communities for potential emergencies. Akajemeli highlighted the collective commitment required at all levels to ensure quality service delivery for all citizens.
