The head of Katcha Local Government Area in Niger State, Danlami Saku, tragically passed away in a car accident, while two others were injured.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Muazu Jantabo, confirmed the incident in an official statement, revealing that Saku lost his life near Kwakuti village on the Minna-Suleja road on Tuesday evening.
He was en route to Abuja for an event accompanied by two other individuals.
Expressing deep sorrow and acceptance of Allah’s will, Jantabo, on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, extended heartfelt sympathies to Saku’s family, friends, and the people of Katcha Local Government Area for the sudden and tragic loss.
“The news of his demise in a road accident along the Minna-Abuja route on December 10, 2024, is a significant loss not only to his immediate circle but to the entire state,” Jantabo remarked.
“Hon. Saku was a dedicated leader whose service and commitment to the progress of Katcha Local Government will be commemorated for years to come,” Jantabo added.
