Nigerians yearning for PDP’s return in 2027 – NWC

The People’s Democratic Party is determined to expand its reach in Nigeria by aiming to secure more governorship positions and regain power at the national level by 2027. This goal was emphasized by the PDP National Working Committee during a recent visit to Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri. The committee highlighted the prevailing dissatisfaction and economic challenges in the country as driving forces for the resurgence of the PDP.

The National Treasurer of the party, Alhaji Ahmed Yayare, expressed confidence in the PDP’s ability to provide a credible opposition to the ruling All Progressives Congress. Yayare mentioned the need for change and the widespread desire for the PDP to take a leading role in addressing the issues of poverty and hunger plaguing the nation.

The NWC revealed plans to engage with PDP-governed states and encouraged party governors to collaborate and strategize for the upcoming general election. The committee also extended condolences to Governor Diri for the recent losses in the state.

PDP National Secretary, Ude Okoye, reiterated the party’s commitment to revitalizing its platform and offering Nigerians a promising leadership alternative. Okoye emphasized the importance of unity among PDP governors and the need to prioritize collective progress over personal agendas.

Governor Diri echoed the call for unity within the PDP ranks, emphasizing the significance of consensus-building and loyalty to the party. He warned against internal discord and urged party members to remain committed to the PDP’s values.

Diri also supported the idea of forming a broader coalition to challenge the dominance of the APC, highlighting the PDP’s pivotal role in creating a strong alliance for the country’s betterment. He concluded by emphasizing the importance of working together to rebuild the nation.
