NLC hails Okpebholo as Edo workers get 13th-month salaries

The current leader of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Edo State, Bernard Joman, has praised Governor Monday Okpebholo for his proactive stance on workers’ welfare, hailing him as a governor who prioritizes the needs of workers.

Joman commended the governor for voluntarily paying public servants the 13th-month salary without any external influence, emphasizing the governor’s genuine concern for the well-being of workers. He urged workers to reciprocate this gesture by increasing their dedication to their jobs.

The labor leader expressed confidence that Governor Okpebholo’s initiative to boost morale by providing the 13th-month salary during the festive season will become a permanent and positive feature of his administration.

The Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, also praised the governor for promptly paying both November salaries and the 13th-month salary, citing it as a demonstration of the governor’s commitment to enhancing the productivity and commitment of the workforce.

The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Fred Itua, confirmed that Governor Okpebholo had fulfilled his promise to pay workers the 13th-month salary, emphasizing the governor’s dedication to prioritizing workers’ welfare.

Joman expressed optimism that Governor Okpebholo’s administration would continue to lead by example in labor relations, fostering a harmonious and productive working environment in Edo State.

Joman also highlighted the governor’s swift actions upon assuming office, fulfilling promises to pay November salaries promptly despite initial skepticism from the opposition party.
