Nnamdi Kanu: New trial judge didn’t step down, Federal High Court clarifies

The Federal High Court has addressed and refuted false reports claiming that the newly assigned judge in the case involving the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, had stepped down. The court clarified that the reports circulating on social media were entirely unfounded and misleading.

The Chief Registrar of the court, Sulaiman Hassan, emphasized that the claims about Justice John Tsoho withdrawing from Kanu’s case were fictitious and should be disregarded. The court stated that Justice Tsoho, in his capacity as Chief Judge, had reassigned the case to another judge, debunking the misinformation spreading online.

The court urged the public to rely only on verified information from official sources to avoid being misled. It emphasized its commitment to upholding justice through due process of the law. The case has been reassigned to Justice James Omotosho after Justice Nyako recused herself.
