NNPCL denies selling substandard fuel, says PMS sourced from Dangote

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has refuted claims of selling low-quality petrol that burns quickly. A statement from the company’s spokesperson addressed a viral video alleging the petrol’s short lifespan in fuel tanks. The video showed a comparison between petrol bought at different stations, with one lasting longer than the other. The NNPC clarified that the petrol in question was from the Dangote refinery, emphasizing its commitment to providing high-quality and efficient fuel to consumers.

The company strongly denied the misleading allegations in the video, labeling them as baseless and lacking credibility. NNPC highlighted its careful formulation of fuel to ensure efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability. It also mentioned that a significant portion of the petrol sold in Lagos stations comes from the Dangote refinery, a partner in promoting local production and energy security.

NNPC condemned the deceptive video as an attempt to misinform the public and damage its reputation. It warned of legal action against those spreading falsehoods and urged the public to rely on verified sources for accurate information. The company reaffirmed its dedication to providing accessible, affordable, and quality fuel while upholding global industry standards.
