The Yoruba United Community in Abia State emphasized that there are no issues between the Yoruba and Igbo people, denouncing the recent “IgboMustGo” slogan that surfaced during the #Hunger protest in Lagos.
During a statement in Umuahia, the President General of the Yoruba United Community, Abia State, Okikiade Yusuf, stressed that there is no conflict in Abia and urged for the end of any unnecessary tensions between the Yoruba and Igbo communities. He highlighted the unity between the two groups and the peaceful coexistence in Abia.
Yusuf expressed satisfaction with the harmonious living conditions within the community and his successful efforts in uniting members across various local government areas. He mentioned his re-election for another term as a testament to his leadership in fostering unity.
The Deputy President, Adeyemi Sunday, a long-term resident in the state, reiterated the lack of issues between the Yoruba and Igbo communities and called for unity among southern Nigeria.
