The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Niger State has issued a warning to individuals sharing a video featuring an armed Civil Defence operative, emphasizing that it poses a threat to national security.
The video, which recently surfaced on social media, depicted a Civil Defence personnel named Idris Saidu holding weapons in both hands and was accused of supplying arms to criminals. Responding to this, the spokesperson for the Niger State Command of the Corps, Abubakar Muti, clarified in a statement that the video is a decade old and that the individual involved had been cleared of any wrongdoing by the Niger State High Court.

The officer in question was legally exonerated, as confirmed by a court judgment with the suit number MN/MTB/CR/60/14.
