N’West bandits fleeing to Oyo, Makinde cries out

The Governor of Oyo State, in a recent statement, expressed concern over bandits fleeing military operations in the North-West and seeking refuge in Oyo State. Governor Makinde assured residents of his administration’s determination to root out these criminals.

Governor Makinde acknowledged the security challenges faced in the previous year and pledged increased efforts to tackle issues such as fire outbreaks, armed robberies, and kidnappings in 2025.

He highlighted the impact of military operations in the North-West on bandits, leading them to relocate to other states like Oyo for safety. The Governor emphasized the need to locate and confront these criminal elements.

Governor Makinde shared a personal experience of bandits being in close proximity during a recent retreat, underscoring the gravity of the security situation. He commended the state’s security forces and urged residents to report any suspicious activities.

The Governor assured that bandits would not find refuge in Oyo State and vowed to ensure the safety of every part of the state. He also promised justice for the tragic stampede at Islamic High School in Bashorun and emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law.

Governor Makinde addressed workers’ welfare concerns, promising to finalize negotiations for pensioners’ minimum wage and arrears. The state’s Head of Service praised the Governor for his worker-friendly policies, with other officials also commending his dedication to workers’ welfare.
