Previous titleholders Delta Queens and Rivers Angels, both prominent teams from the south-south region, are set to clash in a significant match during the fourth round of the 2025 Nigeria Women Football League season. At the same time, the defending champions Edo Queens aim to uphold their impressive performance as they face Dannaz Ladies in Lagos this Wednesday.
Rivers Angels enter the match with a strong track record, having won two games and drawn one, while Delta Queens have struggled with just one win and two losses in their initial three matches.
Currently, Rivers Angels are tied for the top spot in Group B with seven points, separated only by goal difference from Bayelsa Queens, who will also compete against Adamawa Queens on the same day.
Delta Queens find themselves in sixth place in the group and are eager to turn their season around with a victory.
On the other hand, Edo Queens, leading Group A and the reigning champions, have arrived in Lagos for their week four match against Dannaz Ladies.
The team, under the guidance of Moses Aduku, is in high spirits following their recent 1-1 draw against Remo Stars Ladies in Benin. Desmond Enabulele, Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, has encouraged the team to maintain their winning mentality for the upcoming match.
After the game in Lagos, Edo Queens will return home to face Nasarawa Amazons FC from Lafia.
