A member of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Akintunde Armstrong, has refuted claims of imposing councilorship candidates for specific wards in the Ikenne Local Government Area. He dismissed allegations of planning to spend a large sum of money to secure councilorship tickets for his loyalists, labeling these accusations as baseless attempts by the opposition to smear his reputation.
In a statement released by his media assistant, Armstrong clarified that the reports circulating about him were false and aimed at tarnishing his image. He emphasized his loyalty to the party and Governor Dapo Abiodun, refuting any claims of acting against the party’s interests.
Armstrong expressed shock at the allegations and denounced the falsehoods being spread by his detractors. He highlighted the importance of unity within the party and reiterated his commitment to supporting the party’s success in the upcoming local government elections.
The businessman also addressed a video being circulated by the opposition, clarifying that it pertained to the funds allocated by the Dapo Abiodun Continuity Agenda to empower party members, rather than his alleged actions.
