The head of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Ukeyima Akutah, praised Ogun State for its outstanding performance in the ease of doing business index, leading the country in the Federal Government’s industrial revolution efforts. Akutah highlighted the state’s alignment with the administration’s goal of industrializing and creating prosperity and jobs.
During a visit to the Governor’s office in Abeokuta, Akutah and a delegation from the council acknowledged the state government’s infrastructure development initiatives that have boosted industrial growth. They also presented a Certificate of Compliance for the Inland Dry Port in Papalanto, a project flagged off by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola.
Akutah commended the Governor for his commitment to enhancing business activities and critical infrastructure, particularly noting projects like the Gateway International Agro-cargo Airport and the Inland Dry Port. The Governor, in turn, appreciated the delegation’s visit and the Certificate of Compliance, emphasizing the importance of the Papalanto Inland Dry Port in decongesting Lagos Ports and stimulating industrial activities in Ogun State.
Governor Abiodun explained how the Inland Dry Port aligns with the state’s Multi-modal Transportation System, enhancing efficiency and supporting the country’s industrial revolution agenda. The collaboration between the state and the Nigerian Shippers’ Council signifies a step towards achieving industrial growth and economic development.
