Ogun official canvasses collaboration with NGOs to help vulnerable groups

The head of Ogun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs is advocating for increased support and collaboration for Non-Governmental Organizations that aid the less fortunate in society. He emphasizes the importance of individuals and organizations showing compassion and assisting others during the challenging economic times faced not only in Nigeria but globally. The call for intensified backing for NGOs was made during a conference organized by the Encouragement Initiative Academy Alumni, focusing on making charitable impacts in a difficult economy.

Recognizing the essential role played by NGOs in society, the Permanent Secretary highlights the need for collective efforts in supporting these organizations to counterbalance the economic obstacles. Stressing that governments alone cannot address all societal needs, he urges everyone to identify ways to contribute positively to society. He also encourages NGO founders to persevere, seek collaborations, and not be deterred by economic hardships.

The guest speaker at the event, the Executive Director of the Wellness Africa Foundation, emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive outlook and resilience despite economic challenges. Reminding participants of Nigeria’s history of economic instability, he urged them to stay committed to their mission of impacting lives and society positively. The co-founder of Encouragement Initiative, in her remarks, motivated attendees to persist in making a difference wherever they find themselves.
