Ogun students block Lagos-Ibadan expressway over missing LASU graduate

In Ogun State, a group of students staged a protest on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway regarding the disappearance of a 2024 graduate from Lagos State University, Ojoo, Quadri Adedamola Ogunbode. The students, part of the National Association of Ogun State Students, aimed to bring attention to the case and urged the Inspector-General of Police to intervene. The protest caused a temporary blockage of the expressway. Ogunbode, a Political/Education graduate of LASU, went missing near a Celestial Church close to the university on February 17, 2025. Two suspects, including the church’s leader, were arrested in connection with the case.

The NAOSS National President, Kehinde Thomas, expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of the police investigation and called for a special inquiry into Ogunbode’s disappearance. The students emphasized their legitimate demand for justice and highlighted the emotional distress faced by Ogunbode’s family. They urged the IG to use resources to resolve the case promptly. The association vowed to continue seeking justice through legal means until the matter reaches a resolution. Thomas emphasized the need for media support and solidarity in ensuring a thorough investigation and resolution of the case.
