The teacher had brought the dustbin to the class with a warning not to damage it. When the student made a playful comment about the origin of the dustbin, it reportedly angered the teacher. Following the teacher’s report to the principal, the student was ordered to be disciplined. The teacher administered the severe punishment, causing the student to collapse. Despite the delay in seeking medical help, the student was eventually taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead. The incident caused tension in the community, but police intervention helped to calm the situation. The police are investigating the matter, although the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command has not yet responded to requests for information.
