The leader of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, encouraged recently promoted traditional title holders to focus on advancing the development of Ibadanland. This advice was given during a ceremony at the Olubadan palace in Ibadan, where six chiefs from the Balogun line were elevated to higher positions.
The newly promoted chiefs are expected to utilize their new roles effectively for the improvement and growth of Ibadanland. Oba Olakulehin emphasized the importance of their roles in contributing to various aspects of progress within the region.
During the event, Oluwo of Ibadanland, Chief Wahab Labosinde, presented the chiefs with traditional Akoko leaves as a symbol of their new status. The gathering was attended by notable figures such as members of the Olubadan-in-Council, including former Governor of Oyo State, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, among others from the community, political, and religious spheres.
