Ondo: NSCDC nabs three over illegal mining, cable theft

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Ondo State recently apprehended three individuals for suspected illegal mining and theft of armoured cables. The state NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Daniel Aidamenbor, disclosed this in a statement issued in Akure. The suspects, Modashiru Nasiru, 18, and Hassan Yaya, 19, were caught engaging in unauthorized mining activities in the Oke-Igbo, Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo areas. Additionally, Aloa Segun was arrested for allegedly stealing armoured cables. The investigation led to the recovery of armoured cables, recline cables, and a generator worth N3.3m from the suspects. Aidamenbor mentioned that the suspects will face prosecution once the investigations are completed.
