During the ongoing political campaigns in Ondo State for the upcoming governorship election in November, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has pledged to prioritize agriculture and food security if re-elected. He emphasized his commitment to not interfere with the allocations of Local Government Areas in the state, in line with the Supreme Court’s decision granting financial autonomy to LGs nationwide. Local elections in Ondo State are scheduled for January 18, 2025.
Addressing supporters during a campaign visit to Ondo East Local Government Area, Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted his administration’s dedication to community development and safeguarding LG funds. He reassured the people that their welfare is a top priority, promising to uphold democracy and ensure that local governments receive their rightful allocations.
In a plea for development, the traditional ruler of Epe Community, Isaac Oyebade, urged the state government to enhance infrastructure in the historic town. The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr Olamide Oládiji, expressed confidence that the governor would secure support from the LG residents in the upcoming election.
