The head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has issued a stern warning against corrupt behavior within the commission. He emphasized the importance of integrity and accountability, stating that ongoing internal cleansing processes will not spare anyone involved in misconduct. Olukoyede made these remarks at the EFCC’s 2024 Rewards and Recognition ceremony in Abuja.
He highlighted the significance of hard work and integrity, urging those tempted to take shortcuts to instead prioritize ethical conduct. Olukoyede stressed the need for all personnel to uphold integrity as it is crucial for maintaining the organization’s values and reputation.
Additionally, Olukoyede announced the promotion of over 900 personnel, including some who had been awaiting promotion for seven years. He also revealed the reinstatement of life and property insurance for EFCC operatives after a two-decade absence, emphasizing the commission’s commitment to improving staff welfare and support systems.
Efforts are underway to ensure that the welfare of EFCC staff is adequately addressed within the organization’s resources. Olukoyede expressed the importance of recognizing the risks undertaken by staff in their roles and pledged to prioritize their well-being moving forward.
