In the scenario where PSG shows a keen interest in Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, it could result in French striker Kolo Muani being displaced as he has been associated with RB Leipzig.
Facing a period of poor performance that might lead to an early exit from the UEFA Champions League, PSG is reportedly seeking reinforcements in January, as per insights from RMC Sport journalist Daniel Rioli.
Riolo suggests that discussions regarding Osimhen’s transfer are being taken seriously, but PSG would need to negotiate with Galatasaray, where Osimhen is currently on loan, to make the move happen.
Osimhen has showcased impressive stats with nine goals and five assists in 12 games across various competitions this season.
With the potential departure of Randal Kolo Muani from Parc des Princes, PSG will have a vacancy to fill in their forward line as they aim to improve their Champions League performance and maintain their lead in Ligue 1.
RB Leipzig has been open about their search for a No. 9, and PSG’s interest in Victor Osimhen (25) could facilitate Kolo Muani’s move to Germany.
RB Leipzig is looking to enhance their attacking speed, with only three of their players ranking in the Bundesliga’s top 50 fastest players.
Kolo Muani has had limited playing time of 425 minutes across all competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
PSG reportedly made a €100m bid last year after Osimhen’s remarkable performance in helping Napoli secure their first Serie A title in 33 years.
However, Napoli turned down the offer, prompting PSG to explore other alternatives.
During the previous summer, PSG was once again linked with Osimhen as they sought to replace Kylian Mbappé, who moved to Real Madrid. Nonetheless, Napoli’s high asking price discouraged PSG from pursuing the deal.
