Encouraging Nigerian youths to step up and take charge of the nation, a former governor of Bauchi State emphasized the need for a new generation of leaders. Speaking at the First Bauchi SDGs Youth Summit 2024, he admitted to the failures of his generation in providing adequate leadership for the country.
Acknowledging the importance of investing in the youth, he shared his deliberate efforts to involve young individuals in key positions during his tenure. Stressing the significance of preparing the youth for future leadership roles, he highlighted the consequences of neglecting their training.
He urged the youth to prepare themselves for leadership challenges and work towards changing the current state of the country. Additionally, the Bauchi State Commissioner for Youth and Sport advised the youth to seek innovative opportunities and contribute positively to the nation’s progress.
Emphasizing the need for self-leadership before leading others, he underscored the importance of personal growth and development. The summit, attended by youths and students from various educational institutions, aimed at fostering a platform for dialogue and empowerment.
