Our wedding journey built on grace, not wealth, Mike Bamiloye recounts struggling start

The journey of the Pastor and Founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Mike Bamiloye, and his wife’s wedding was a true testament to the grace of God.

They faced the early days of their marriage with limited financial resources, relying on the kindness of family, friends, and their faith community to make their special day possible.

In a recent post on his official Facebook account, Bamiloye shared how their wedding journey showcased the strength of faith and communal support, proving that love can flourish even in times of financial difficulty.

Looking back on their wedding day, Bamiloye mentioned, “When we got married, we couldn’t afford a honeymoon, so we stayed in our rented house.”

Despite the financial challenges they encountered, they received support from loved ones. His sister rented them a flat, his best man provided a suit, and his sister-in-law gifted him shoes and socks for the occasion.

They even struggled to afford a wedding gown but were assisted by a kind sister from their ministry who helped with the deposit.

Although they faced obstacles like not being able to afford a court marriage initially, they remained steadfast in their faith, trusting in the love and assistance of their community.

Every contribution they received on their wedding day went towards settling debts, highlighting their financial struggles at the start of their marriage.

Despite facing financial hardship just days after the wedding, they remained grateful for the support they received and the lessons learned.

Bamiloye emphasized that the foundation of a strong marriage is rooted in love, faith, and the willingness of others to offer a helping hand.

Expressing his gratitude for his wife, Gloria, Bamiloye thanked God for her support and understanding throughout their journey.

In a recent celebration of Gloria’s 58th birthday, Bamiloye praised her for her unwavering support of his ministry, recalling how she even assisted during her National Youth Service Corps days.

He also expressed appreciation for Gloria’s role in their successful ministry as they commemorated their 33rd wedding anniversary in October 2021.

Bamiloye reflected on how thankful he was for Gloria’s acceptance, highlighting the rejection of other marriage proposals in the past.
