PDP criticises AbdulRazaq’s leadership as gov reshuffles cabinet

The opposition party in Kwara State has raised concerns about Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership style, accusing him of not fostering an inclusive administration and governing in an autocratic manner. Despite the governor emphasizing teamwork during a recent cabinet reshuffle, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) criticized his approach, stating that his administration lacks collaboration and decision-making participation from cabinet members.

The PDP Publicity Secretary in the state highlighted that the governor operates a “one-man government,” where commissioners are seen as figureheads without meaningful input. The party also pointed out the irregularity of State Executive Council meetings, alleging that decisions are made without proper consultation or contribution from commissioners.

Moreover, the PDP challenged the governor’s claims of progress, citing issues in healthcare management and alleged corruption in the energy sector. They also criticized the administration’s social investments, questioning the effectiveness of programs in reducing poverty given the reported increase in the poverty rate in Kwara State.
