The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria has expressed appreciation for the successful 180-day continuous operation of the revamped Port Harcourt Refinery by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. The association’s National Public Relations Officer, Dr. Joseph Obele, highlighted the significant role of the host communities in supporting the refinery’s rehabilitation.
Dr. Obele emphasized the remarkable achievement of the refinery running continuously for 180 days after being dormant for over 20 years. He noted that the refinery’s operation has facilitated the steady supply of petroleum products, including Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) for PETROAN members, and Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) for NNPC Ltd. retail marketers.
Special recognition was extended to the Managing Director of the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) for his leadership and dedication to the refinery’s success. Additionally, appreciation was expressed to President Bola Tinubu for supporting the refinery’s rehabilitation financially.
Dr. Obele commended the Federal Government and NNPC Ltd. management for their commitment to revitalizing the refining industry, believing that the operational success of the refinery will positively impact energy security, economy, and employment opportunities in the country.
