The leader of the Ngas community in Plateau State has made a commitment to safeguard the installations of the local electricity distribution company within his jurisdiction. This promise was given during a visit by the management of the company.
The Ngas leader assured that he would rally other traditional leaders and young people in his area to oversee the protection of these installations, ensuring a continuous power supply for the community. He emphasized that any traditional leader found neglecting this duty would face consequences.
He expressed gratitude for the visit from the electricity company and encouraged them to enhance their distribution services. The company’s Managing Director explained that efforts were being made to address the current low power supply caused by issues with the national grid.
The Managing Director also highlighted the importance of using certified electrical personnel to prevent accidents and other hazards. Plans are in place to improve the power flow to the southern part of the Plateau region by completing a key power line.
