In a statement by the Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police Mansir Hassan, it was revealed that the arrests were made possible through collaborative efforts with local hunters. The police raided three villages in the Lere Local Government Area, resulting in the apprehension of five suspects and the recovery of firearms, a vehicle, a motorcycle, and several mobile phones.
In a separate operation, six more suspects were arrested at a motor park, leading to the confiscation of weapons and a significant sum of money. Additionally, a suspected bandit was apprehended at a hotel in the Tafa area of Kagarko Local Government, confessing to involvement in cattle rustling and kidnapping.
The state Commissioner of Police, Audu Dabigi, commended the bravery of the police operatives and urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement in eradicating criminal activities. The successful arrests and recoveries were described as a crucial step in the ongoing battle against kidnapping and banditry in Kaduna State.
