With Christmas drawing near, the Nigeria Police Force has restated its commitment to ensuring public safety and security. The Force has stepped up its efforts with increased vigilance and proactive measures in place. Under the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, security has been bolstered for the festive season through intensive patrols and raids carried out by police operatives in various state commands.

These operations have led to multiple arrests, successful raids, and significant recoveries of weapons. The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, made these disclosures in a press statement. For instance, on December 14, 2024, Lagos State Police Command operatives conducted raids in the Isolo area, apprehending 43 suspects and seizing various exhibits like cannabis, daggers, swords, and fetish items.

The Nigeria Police Force continues to exhibit unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property by enhancing vigilance and implementing security measures nationwide. Adejobi highlighted the visible efforts in states such as Kaduna, Zamfara, Taraba, Edo, Delta, Benue, and Niger, among other key areas.

As the festive season progresses, the Nigeria Police Force pledges to persist in its mission to prevent crime and safeguard the lives and properties of all citizens. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities to ensure a safe environment during the holiday season,” Adejobi concluded.
