Police arrest 245 suspects across FCT in February

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has conducted a successful series of intelligence-driven operations resulting in the arrest of 245 suspects between February 6 and February 23, 2025. The crackdown targeted criminal hideouts, black spots, and abandoned buildings in various areas of the FCT, including Kurudu, Dutse Alhaji, Kubwa, Wuye, Galadimawa, Iddo, Kuje, Apo, Zuba, Asokoro, Karshi, Karu, and Byazhin. The arrested suspects are currently undergoing screening and profiling, with plans for prosecution if found guilty.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, emphasized the commitment of the FCT Police Command to enhancing security by intensifying efforts to combat criminal activities. The operations focused on crime-prone areas and led to the apprehension of 245 suspects. Items seized during the operations included suspected marijuana, axes, machetes, glue, bongs, scissors, ID cards, plastic containers, and pills believed to be illicit substances.

The Command has also increased surveillance on abandoned buildings and isolated areas used as potential hideouts for criminals engaging in drug abuse and organized crime.
