Police arrest suspected kidnapper, rescue two-year-old victim

The Kano State Police Command made a successful arrest of a 25-year-old suspected kidnapper, Abubakar Musa, from Rijiyar Lemo Quarters in Kano. The suspect was apprehended for the abduction of a two-year-old child, Al’amin Ahmad Garba, and demanding a ransom of N50 million for the child’s release.

A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, mentioned that the suspect was captured on December 25, 2024, after a sustained follow-up and intelligence-led operation. The victim was found hidden in a house in Unguwar Liman, Dorayi Quarters, Kano, after being concealed there for three days.

The rescued child received medical treatment at Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital Kano, was discharged, and reunited with the family. The suspect was charged to Magistrate Court No. 25 Nomansland Kano on January 3, 2025, and is currently in custody.

The Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba, reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all Kano State residents. The Kano State Police Command urged the public to continue providing valuable information to aid in the apprehension of criminals.
