The Gombe State Police Command recently recovered a total of 85 stolen animals, which consisted of 28 sheep and 57 goats, from suspected thieves. According to the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the suspects were apprehended by local hunters along the Tulmi village cattle route. The village head of Tulmi provided information about the suspects in possession of the stolen animals. Upon interrogation, the suspects failed to provide a convincing explanation for the animals, raising suspicions of theft. Two suspects, Abdulkadir Tukur and Ibrahim Saidu, admitted to the crime during the investigation. Twenty-five goats have been identified and reclaimed by their rightful owners. Abdullahi commended the local hunters for their efforts in preventing the theft and encouraged the public to assist the police in fighting crime. Efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects for potential prosecution, and the recovered animals will be reunited with their owners.
