In a recent incident, the Katsina State Police Command successfully intervened in a kidnapping attempt by bandits in the Jibia Local Government Area. During the operation, 21 victims were rescued, but unfortunately, a member of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps and a vigilante lost their lives. The joint security team, including the police, military, community watch corps, and vigilantes, repelled the attackers in a fierce gun battle that lasted over an hour. The bandits were eventually forced to retreat, leaving behind 16 victims who were rescued. Five individuals sustained gunshot injuries and received immediate medical attention. The command is working diligently with other security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators. The Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Musa, assured the public of their commitment to maintaining safety in the state and encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
