The Kano State Police Command recently rescued a four-year-old boy named Muhammad Jamilu who had been kidnapped. Three suspects were apprehended in connection with the abduction. The police spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa, confirmed the arrests in a press statement in Kano, revealing that Jamilu was taken from Sharada Quarters to Gwarzo Town. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of ₦10 million, but negotiations led to an initial payment of ₦300,000 with the balance pending. The main suspect, Salisu, who is the victim’s cousin, confessed to planning the abduction with the other two suspects. Fortunately, Jamilu was found unharmed and taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in Kano. The State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, ordered the immediate rescue of the victim and arrest of the culprits. The suspects arrested include Hisbullahi Salisu, Hassan Ali Rabiu, and Hassan Aliyu, who were involved in the kidnapping scheme. Salisu admitted to collaborating with the others in holding the victim captive in Gwarzo Town, Gwarzo LGA, Kano State.
