Police uncover LASU graduate’s shallow grave, arrest fourth suspect

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the discovery of the burial site of a Lagos State University graduate, Adedamola Ogunbode. The main suspect, Olaoluwa Ajisomo, who was rumored to have fled to Benin Republic, is now assisting the police in locating the burial site. The command’s spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Police Benjamin Hundeyin, provided updates on the case. Adedamola Ogunbode, a graduate of Political Science Education, had been missing since January 16, 2025. The police recently arrested three suspects, including a pastor who allegedly received money from the victim’s account, and a church member involved in the case. The prime suspect, Olaoluwa Ajisomo, was apprehended in the Alakuko area, where he was found to have emptied the victim’s bank account. The police clarified that the shallow grave where the victim was buried was not located within the church premises. There were concerns of possible retaliation against the church, leading to its temporary closure. Police detectives are en route to exhume the victim’s body from the burial site, as the newly arrested suspect has confessed to the crime. Confirmation was provided by Hundeyin in response to inquiries.
