The Kebbi State Police Command recently revealed that one of its officers turned down a bribe of ₦1,060,000 offered by suspects in the state. The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, and shared with the media on Tuesday. The suspects attempted to bribe the Command’s lead investigator to compromise the investigation and prosecution of a case involving alleged banditry by suspected Lakurawa terrorists in the northern part of the state. The individuals involved were promptly arrested, and the investigation is ongoing, with plans to take them to court for prosecution. The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani, praised the detectives for their dedication and professionalism and encouraged other officers to follow their example. The commissioner reiterated the Command’s commitment to combatting banditry and other serious crimes to create a conducive environment for socio-economic activities in Kebbi State.
