The Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnic has declared intentions to hold a three-day warning strike due to concerns about the career progression of its members. In a letter addressed to the Ministry of Labour, the National Board for Technical Education, and the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, the union expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of progress in discussions with the government regarding issues affecting non-teaching staff in polytechnics. They highlighted the need for fair career advancement opportunities for all staff members and emphasized the importance of addressing the ongoing challenges faced by non-teaching staff. The union emphasized its commitment to equity and justice within the polytechnic system and stressed the importance of implementing policies that cater to both teaching and non-teaching staff.
