Prioritise healthcare delivery at grassroots, Senate leader urges govs

Senator Opeyemi Bamidele expressed concern over the high mortality rate in Nigeria due to poverty and inadequate healthcare access. He emphasized the need for an enhanced primary healthcare system to address these issues and urged state governors to prioritize healthcare for the majority living in rural areas.

During a medical outreach in Ekiti Central Senatorial District, 9,400 individuals received medical assistance, with a total of 16,000 beneficiaries across two phases. The program included diagnosis and treatment of various ailments like hepatitis, hypertension, diabetes, and provision of free eyeglasses for visual impairments.

Bamidele stressed the importance of improving healthcare access for all Nigerians, especially the less privileged. He assured ongoing support through free medical interventions for constituents in need.

The Ewi of Ado Ekiti commended Senator Bamidele for his contributions to Ekiti State, citing developments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and human capital under his leadership. The collaboration between Governor Biodun Oyebanji and Senator Bamidele was praised for its positive impact on the state’s progress.
