The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation is set to begin distributing Iftar meals in selected mosques across five states in the North as part of its yearly practice. The Ramadan Iftar program will span the final 10 days of the fasting month, according to a statement from Hon. Musa Aliyu, the North Central Regional Director of ABSFoundation, released in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The program will cover Kwara, Niger, Borno, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, with a plan to provide meals for over 100 individuals per mosque in more than 50 mosques in Kwara State alone.
Similar initiatives will take place in selected mosques in Niger, Borno, Kano, and the FCT. Aliyu emphasized that this annual gesture aims to show care for the Muslim community and ensure that everyone can partake in fasting without hardship.
Dr. Bukola Saraki, the former Senate President and founder of ABS Foundation, highlighted the significance of unity, charity, and prayer during Ramadan and urged all Nigerians, regardless of faith, to use this period to pray for the country’s well-being. He stressed the need for those who are better off to support the less privileged, particularly given the country’s economic challenges.
